Gift Connect was an MVP for an ad platform. My job was to work with Belgrade team to create information architecture and wireframes, for the team to better estimate the scope of the project.
From the detailed (but too often changing) spec document, I created a solid information architecture based on hierarchical and sequential structures – sitemap, admin sections and multi-step wizards.
Fate got us into PDF wireframes, where I assembled over 40-page long document detailing every screen and its states. Regardless of my Illustrator skills, this was extremily difficult to manage.
Don't spend three months on "The Spec" document and detailed wireframes. Instead, spend half that time finding problem/solution and product/market fit, through rapid prototyping and customer development, design thinking or Jobs to be Done processes – either one will be really helpful.
